The Book and Author
A Salute:
The five "Murphy
Girls" were all beautiful strong women…it came naturally
from a legacy they upheld. They had a strong and abiding faith
in God and in the Christian principles in which Delta
Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded.
The Murphy Legacy portrait by
Ted Ellis was presented to at the National Convention in 1996,
and the legacy continues to grow to this day. A signed print
hangs in the Washington, DC headquarters.
This 2008 revised “Be
Strong” edition is in honor of the beloved author,
Dr. Elizabeth " Bettye" Murphy Moss, who taught us how
to honor her mother, Vashti Turley Murphy with unconditional
love. Their legacy of serving others continues to live through
the rich family heritage.
Proceeds of the sale of this
book will go to the Vashti Turley
Murphy Scholarship Fund.
